The reason I decided to create this blog is to motivate myself.
My health always seems to be a bit shaky, from having an over active nervous system to autoimmune problems, and the way I treat my body definitely has an impact on these issues.
So, i need to take a serious look at myself and take control of these problems.
I've been underweight for a few years now, and it's a struggle for me to gain any weight. I'm 5'6" and generally weight around 106 lbs. While this is not terribly underweight, when paired with my other health issues, it causes more issues than it otherwise would.
I generally keep myself in shape, but in order to try and gain weight, i have to change the way I workout, doing my work with weights, and less cardio. Jogging and spinning classes have always been a way for me to de-stress, but at my doctors recommendation, I have to cut down on jogging and stopped doing spinning classes. So, I'm going to have to find other ways to keep myself sane!
My overall goal is to get my weight up to 115 lbs. and manage to keep it there. As well, I want to get legitimately fit and toned.
As well, I have a deadline.
On July 3rd, 2012, I'm leaving my home of Toronto and flying out to SE Asia where I will be volunteering for two months. I will be working on various projects, such as on an elephant reservation and with different hill tribes, and the work is very physically demanding, so I need to get myself ready! I expect that I will lose weight while I am traveling, so that makes it even more important for me to gain weight prior to the trip. If I come back to Canada looking emaciated, my family will not be pleased.
